Freda studied Fine Art and Painting at Waterford Regional Technical College in the late 1980s.

Shortly after graduating , she moved to New York, where her career continued in a creative direction through decorative plastering, window displays, and interior design work.

She also ran her own company specializing in interior styling and store fit outs .

She returned to Ireland in 2004 and, after working in interior design for a time, found her way back to painting -her first love-while staging a home.

Freda is best known for her expansive abstract oil paintings.

Inspired by growing up beside the sea, her work explores seascapes and landscapes through layered abstraction, capturing light, movement, and the gentle rhythm of the coastline, creating a calm and balanced presence within a space.
